Severe Weather in Indiana

Well last night was ‘fun’.   Severe storms moved across Central Indiana and it looks like a tornado or a couple hit parts on Indianapolis.k  Fortunately for us, the part of the storm was about 15 miles south of our area.

Lots of lightning and some gusty winds, but that was it.   Of course you can watch the video on the damage at WISHTV.com

Long time … no post

In the words of the great Frank Barrone … Holy Crap!   It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a blog entry.  So much to catch up on…

  • I survived my first earthquake. Ok it was only a 5.2, but it freaked me out. The ground didn’t shake in Texas. Reaffirmed my desire not to go to California.
  • I survived the Indiana Primary. Trust me, having to stream Barack, Hillary, Bill, Chelsea & Michelleevery day for a month can wear you out.It was a fun month.
  • Ducks on the pond. That’s Fred on the right. We have about 4 or 5 who pay a visit to our bird feeder almost daily. They provide some calm relief after a busy day.
  • Sandy started a job in downtown Indy. The great thing is we’re able to carpool to work everyday. With our $4 gas it’s saving us a lot of money.

Now that catches us up.

Today was a fun day.  It was announced that Indianapolis will be the host of Super Bowl XLVI in 2012.  I plan on being around to enjoy the fun.  If the fun of the Indy 500 will be anything close to the Super Bowl, it should be an awesome time for the city.

Over the weekend, Sandy and I went out to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to watch qualifying.  They weren’t kidding about the noise.  We sat in the stands just above Danika’s pit box while she was practicing.  It was funny to see the crowd gathered around her pits.  I was able to snap off a shot from my perch 15 or so rows up.

For those who don’t live in Indy may not know this, but if you’re not at the track on race day, you can’t see the race live.  Another reason I’m happy to have my satellite dish so I can watch the race as it happens.

Finally, I’m happy I get to resume a tradition this year.  Now that we’re back in the Midwest we’ll be attending Red White and Boom in Columbus, Ohio.  It’s the biggest fireworks spectacular in the Midwest.  It will make our 8th trip for the Big Show.  The three years in Texas we watched it on the net.

Well I’m going to get back to the NCIS finale.  Jenny, the Director is dead.  They always kill off a major character.  It’s a bummer … I liked her.
