All I want to do is change my number!
Now that we’ve been in Indiana for a month and it’s time to change my phone number. So remembering the hell it was to transfer my phone in Corpus Christi, we did the smart thing and waited till the end of our billing cycle to get the phone number changed.
So after the Mrs. gets home and we grab a quick bite to eat, we head over to our local authorized Verizon Wireless Dealer. They’re closed - It’s not even 8 p.m. We then try several other locations … all closed. Finally we find one open down in Indianapolis at the mall. Turned out to be a kiosk. The guy said he could help, but it turned out he couldn’t. We waited there for 25 minutes while he was programming another woman’s new phone. By there wasn’t enough time to head down the road to the main stand alone store.
Of course we probably would have been able to find the main store sooner, but when we tried to call the stores, we couldn’t get anyone to answer the damn phones!
There was one bright note … the kiosk guy at the mall did call us after we bolted out of the mall to tell us the other store had closed for the night. He suggested we call 611 to get that done. Fortunately the woman at the customer service center was very polite and did her best to help us out.
Now of course another problem hits us. Verizon Wireless has changed their calling plans – which means we had to move to a new plan. The customer service rep, try as she might to explain the differences in the plan – I couldn’t process it with out the details in print in front of me. I tried to follow along on the Verizon Wireless Web site, but it was having problems and was VERY slow to load.
So as of now we’re still stuck with our Tejas cell numbers. We’ll take another stab at it tomorrow after work. I’m sure Verizon Wireless will still stick me for the $15 phone transfer fees.
Can you hear me now? — Not so good.
As much as I would love to change carriers, we’ve got everyone we talk to in the plan … so we’re stuck with it. At least we’re not moving again anytime soon.
